SVA VOICES: HECTOR MONCADO
SVA VOICES: HECTOR MONCADO As a part of our mission in aiding veterans with their transition into higher education and civilian life, SVA shares the stories of student veterans through our SVA Voices series in the hopes that, through storytelling, we can change the narrative surrounding veterans and inspire the next generation of student veterans. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15) SVA Voices will feature stories from Hispanic student veterans across the country. SVA celebrates the history, cultures and contributions of Hispanic Americans to our military and our nation. Hector Moncada is a U.S. Army veteran who is currently serving an AmeriCorps VISTA term, working as a Chapter Liaison at Student Veterans of America’s National Headquarters in Washington, DC. Prior to moving to Washington, DC, Moncada earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of the Pacific, where he also served as the Chapter Leader for his SVA Chapter.
